Homemade Reese's peanut butter cups are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that everyone will love. These chocolate and peanut butter treats are a classic candy that have been enjoyed for generations. Making your own peanut butter cups at home allows you to control the ingredients and customize the flavors to your liking. With just a few simple steps, you can create a batch of these sweet treats that are perfect for sharing with friends and family, or as a special indulgence for yourself. So, let's get started and learn how to make homemade Reese's peanut butter cups!

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups were invented in 1928 by H.B. Reese, a former dairy farmer and shipping foreman for the Hershey Company. He had a talent for making candy and decided to start his own candy business. The peanut butter cups quickly became popular and have since become an iconic American candy.

The original recipe consisted of a creamy peanut butter center covered in milk chocolate. Over the years, the company has expanded its product line to include different sizes, shapes, and variations of the classic peanut butter cup, such as dark chocolate, white chocolate, and crunchy peanut butter.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are enjoyed by people of all ages and have become a staple in American culture. They are commonly found in convenience stores, vending machines, and movie theaters, and are often used in baking and cooking as a tasty ingredient. The popularity of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups has also led to the creation of various spin-off products, such as Reese's Pieces and Reese's Puffs cereal.

Today, the Reese's brand is owned by The Hershey Company and continues to be a beloved treat for millions of people around the world.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Line a muffin tin with 12 paper liners and set aside.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the peanut butter, softened butter, granulated sugar, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.

  3. Using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop, portion out the peanut butter mixture into 12 even portions. Roll each portion into a ball and flatten it slightly. Place each portion into the paper liner in the muffin tin.

  4. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth.

  5. Spoon the melted chocolate over the peanut butter mixture in each muffin cup until the peanut butter is completely covered.

  6. Tap the muffin tin lightly on a flat surface to remove any air bubbles and smooth out the chocolate.

  7. Place the muffin tin in the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.

  8. Once the chocolate is set, remove the paper liners from the peanut butter cups and enjoy!

Enjoy!
